The MVP Wave is a stable to understable distance driver that is
intended to simply extend the lines of a slightly slower disc, meaning
that it can be used for longer hyzerflips, turnovers, and anhyzer lines
while still maintaining a similar flight to a slower disc. It has a
neutral hand feel and is often described as a faster Inertia. Players
with slower arms will find that the Wave is suitable for long hyzers or
even full S-curves when thrown flat. For higher arm speeds this disc
fits more of a turnover and long hyzerflip slot. Different runs of the
Wave have shown noticeable variation in flight and disc shape between
different types of plastic. For instance, Fission tends to be more
understable, whereas Proton Waves have been known to be slightly
overstable.
The Wave was released in 2015 as the second high-speed distance driver in the MVP lineup, and since then has remained a popular driver among MVP-sponsored FPO players. It’s available in almost all MVP plastics, and some of the original Special Edition stamped Waves are collectible.
