DGA, the Disc Golf Association, was founded in 1976 by "Steady" Ed Headrick and is the sport's original company. Headrick invented the Disc Pole Hole, the chain-and-basket target that made formal disc golf possible, and trademarked the term disc golf itself. DGA marked its 50th year in 2026.
Baskets remain central to the business, and the Mach series is among the most widely installed targets in the sport. On the disc side the catalog is smaller and more focused than the volume brands, with plastics organized as ProLine and SP Line at the premium end, D-Line as the grippy baseline, and Stone as a firmer version of D-Line, alongside Signature and Atmos runs. DGA also runs Spark, which it describes as a transparent premium blend carrying suspended sparkle flakes and among the most durable plastics it makes.
Note that DGA's D-Line is unrelated to the similarly named line from Discmania; the two brands arrived at the same name independently and the plastics are different.
