The Shockwave is an overstable midrange from DGA, released in September 2007 and rated 4/2/0/3: a disc built to hold its line without turning over, which made long, hard approach shots, tight tunnels, and windy hyzers its specialty. It shipped in DGA's durable ProLine plastic, and players of the era report the second run flying noticeably more overstable than the first; lore also says it shares a mold with DGA's Torque, though that has never been confirmed.

DGA has confirmed directly that the Shockwave is out of production, so remaining copies circulate on the secondhand market. If you find one, expect a dependable, wind-proof mid with a firm finish, and check which run you are holding.

    Overstable, power-resistant midrange shots. The Shockwave (4/2/0/3) will not flip over even on hard throws or in wind, finishing with a strong fade, so it is excellent for forehands, headwind approaches, spike hyzers, and other utility lines that need a dependable finish.

  • Is the Shockwave good for beginners?
    It is better suited to players with some power. The Shockwave is quite overstable with low glide, so lower-power throwers will find it fades out early and does not travel far. Stronger arms use it as a reliable overstable control and utility midrange.
