World

4.2(56)
Distance Driver
The World is a speed-14 Westside distance driver rated 14/4/-0.5/3, with a low profile, a little turn and a solid fade. It suits strong throwers who want a fast, stable distance driver, and Westside says it flies well close to the ground. Players without the arm speed for a 14-speed rim, or anyone wanting a glidy, easy driver, should look elsewhere. Westside's early Finnish site called it a speed-14 overstable driver for big arms, with more speed and distance than the Giant thanks to small changes to the upper mold. Westside first rated it 14/4/1/4, while the current numbers are the ones above. Players on Disc Golf Course Review in 2014 and 2015 found newer discs more overstable and worn-in ones long distance drivers, and one expected VIP plastic to take longer to wear in. The PDGA approved the World on 28 October 2013 (13-70). Westside recorded a VIP pre-release on 25 November 2013 and the full launch on 1 March 2014, and later reused the World's upper half for the Sorcerer. Its Finnish name is Maailma, after the Kalevala's creation myth, and the stamp art is by Arto Hoffrén (2013); Matt Orum has had a Team Series run. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the Westside Catapult and the MVP Nitro.

4.256 reviews from 4 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
