The Relay is a stable-to-understable MVP driver rated 6/5/-2/1, listed here as a control driver and sold by MVP as a fairway driver. MVP says its slim 16 mm rim still feels substantial in the hand and is easy to grip, and that strong throwers get a healthy flip while others get a straight line. It suits tight woods and gap shots; players who want a headwind driver should look elsewhere.

Elaine King has said she reaches for it when she needs to hit a tight gap or stay on the fairway. Players on Disc Golf Course Review describe it as a woods driver with an S-shaped flight, and several report that runs since 2020 fly differently from earlier ones.

The PDGA approved the Relay on 28 May 2015 (15-54), and MVP describes it as its first driver with a 16 mm rim. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the Innova Leopard and the Axiom Rhythm.
