The Kaxe is a Kastaplast midrange built for control, a beaded mold that holds a line and finishes with a modest, predictable fade. It is rated 6/5/0/2.

The bead and shallow rim give it a secure, grippy feel that suits both backhand and forehand approaches, and the neutral-to-slightly-overstable flight makes it a dependable option for straight midrange shots that need a soft finish rather than a hard hyzer.

It is offered across the Kastaplast range, from the grippy K1 Line and softer K1 Soft up through K3 Line and the recycled K1 Grind.

    TLDR: Discontinued OG Embossed KAXE is perfectly stable to 320. New run Kaxe is (very) undertable over 250. TO BE CLEAR THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT MOLDS WITH THE SAME NAME. THEY ARE INDEED ENTIRELY DIFFERENT DISCS! The Original Kaxe is labeled as 6.4.0.3. The New Kaxe is labeled as 6.5.0.2. OG Kaxe is embossed with "KAXE" on the lower rim. ------------------------------------------------- Player info: MA40 Player: Low lasers post to post on FB field, but can't throw over 400. The ORIGINAL 6.4.0.3 K1 SOFT KAXE is my goto midrange from ~250 - 300. (SE Sniff run) At this distance, the K1S KAXE is almost perfectly stable (straight, no fade), yet handles strong headwinds. Over ~300, expect some turn, but no burn. These characterists are true for every OG K1S KAXE in my stack! The OG K1 regular Kaxe seem to fly just a touch less stable and beat in much quicker. K1S holds stability for years, yet the normal K1 requires replacement/cycle every few months. The OG K3 kaxe is BEEF for the first few rounds, but then settles into a nice "new dx Roc-like" flight, until you turn it into a taco. Not the best woods disc, due to plastic, sadly. Beat too quickly. Disappointing Update: The NEW 6.5.0.2 K1 KAXE is definitely understable, will NOT handle any headwind, and burns past ~300ft. THESE ARE NOT THE SAME DISCS. They don't even LOOK the same, as the new Kaxe feels like a fairway, with a noticably wider rim. Having said that, if you want a woods disc when there is little to no wind, the new Kaxe (6502) is indeed a great flyer. Also, the standard K1 seems a little softer on the "new" first runs. All new run K1 Kaxe need a bit of hyzer if thrown hard. I have not thrown the new K1S Kaxe.
