Wolf

The Wolf is a very understable mid-range with a Thumtrac released by Innova in 1999 that is mildly popular amongst players with lower arm speeds.

When the Wolf was first released, it served as the only other understable midrange made by Innova aside from the Stingray. Unlike the Stingray, the Wolf does not have a lot of glide (only 3) thanks to its low profile and Thumtrac. It is very uncommon for a disc as understable as the Wolf to have as little glide as it does, which does make it special. However, Innova has made a plethora of alternatives to the Wolf since its release such as the Skeeter, Mirage, and more recently the Rollo which has helped push the Wolf more into obscurity.

However, the Wolf still has its set of fans, and it is still in production as of 2024. Innova has never released the Wolf in any other plastic besides DX as it has always marketed the Wolf as a disc for newer players. But that has not stopped the Wolf from becoming a collector’s disc. First run Wolf’s released with a bar stamp are valuable and since the Wolf was debuted at the tail end of the “Champion Era” of Innova (1983-1999), the full “circle stamp” DX Wolf is sought after by collectors.
