Stratus

The Stratus is one of Discraft's longest-serving beginner discs, a very understable midrange rated 5/4/-4/1: at -4 turn it moves right at even modest power and barely fades. New players get full flights immediately; experienced players use it for touch turnovers, tailwind lines, and rollers.

Its lightness of demand is the whole design: slow arm speeds keep it straight, and anything more bends it right. Thrown flat by a strong arm it will roll over, which is either the flaw or the feature depending on the shot.

Approved in April 1997 (PDGA cert 97-04), it has stayed in the lineup across nearly three decades, mostly in base plastics aimed at newcomers.

Pro-D and X Line carry the everyday runs, with occasional Tour Series ESP appearances for collectors.
