Malta

The Malta is an overstable midrange in Paul McBeth's Discraft line, rated 5/4/1/3: the +1 turn means it will not turn over at full power, and the flight ends in a strong, early fade. It is a wind mid and a shot-shaper's tool, not a straight glider, and slower arms will watch it hyzer out early.

Function over glide is the idea. Forehands, overhand shots, headwind approaches, and hard hyzer lines all stay honest, and power changes the shape very little, which is exactly what an overstable utility mid is for. It slots into the bag role players reserve for a mid that always comes back.

The mold entered the PDGA books in September 2019 as the "Paul McBeth Proto Mid-Range" (cert 19-64) before launching as the Malta, part of the signature line Discraft built around McBeth after his 2018 signing.

Big Z and ESP are the standard runs, and the Signature series (Signature Big Z, Signature ESP, Signature Z Line) carries his stamp for collectors.
