MD4

The MD4 is the overstable brother of the MD3, rated 5/4/0/3: a midrange that refuses to turn over yet keeps enough glide to push forward before its reliable fade. It holds the controlled-overstable slot in Discmania's mid family, between the straight MD3 and the meathook MD5.

That glide is what separates it from blunter utility mids: Discmania's own release notes emphasized how it carries farther before fading, so it works as a real midrange and not just a wind tool. The blunt nose and the MD3-family micro-bead give it a familiar feel for Discmania throwers, and it shrugs off full-power backhands and forehands alike, making it a headwind mid and a dependable approach disc in one.

It debuted on September 1, 2017 with first-run and stock editions landing together, picked up a Stiff P-Line release for the 2018 Pro Worlds and a Metal Flake C-Line special edition that fall, and carried through the brand's move to in-house production. It remains in the current lineup.

C-Line and S-Line are the premium staples, with D-Line as the grippy base option. Reach for the MD4 when the MD3 turns more than you want and the MD5 fades harder than you need.
