The Ares is Paul McBeth's newest distance driver, rated 12/6/-1/2: high speed, big glide, a touch of turn on paper, and a controlled fade. The numbers read a shade friendlier than his Zeus's 12/5/-1/3, but the pitch runs the other way: Discraft built the Ares for players who wanted more torque resistance from the Zeus, and early sellers describe a more overstable, harder-working flight in which the extra glide plays as longer carry before a still-dependable finish.

Its certification tells the origin story in plain text: PDGA cert 26-27 (February 2026) is recorded as "renamed from Zeus 2.0", making the Ares the certified successor in McBeth's distance slot. Trust the numbers for the shape and the marketing for the feel until player reviews settle the difference.

The first runs came in prototype and First Run ESP, with a Sparkle event run. More plastics will follow.
