The Virus is an understable Axiom distance driver rated 9/5/-3.5/1: lots of glide, a steady tendency to turn over and a forward-moving fade. Slower arms can use it for straight distance, while power throwers use it for big turnovers, rollers and tailwind shots. It is a poor fit for headwinds or for players who need a stable finish. Axiom pitches it as an easy-throwing distance driver modelled on a worn-in MVP Impulse, and says skilled throwers can shape its turn. Early throwers on Disc Golf Course Review found it flew straighter and with more glide than they had feared, and liked it for long flips from hyzer, downwind anhyzer shots and rollers. The PDGA approved the Virus on 19 December 2014 (14-96), the same day as the Wrath. Axiom's class chart places it as the least stable of its five 18.5 mm drivers as of October 2026.
