Excite

4.7(45)
Distance Driver

The Excite is an understable Axiom distance driver rated 14.5/5.5/-2/2: a fast, very glidey driver with real high-speed turn and a moderate fade. It needs a lot of power to show that turn; Axiom's flight notes say average arms may get only a straight-to-fading flight from it. Newer players usually get more distance from a slower driver.

Axiom pitches it for long, accurate distance through glide and easy hyzer flips, and says power throwers can open it up on long, panning lines. Players on Disc Golf Course Review report unusually long flights from it, with real turn at speed.

The PDGA approved the Excite on 25 March 2018 (18-36). It shares Axiom's 24.5 mm class with the Tantrum and Delirium. Try Discs lists it in Neutron as of October 2026. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the MVP Catalyst and the Innova Groove.

Rim DepthHow deep the rim is underneath, where your fingers grip. Putters have the deepest rims.
1.2 cm
Rim ThicknessHow wide the rim is. Wider rims make faster discs that need a stronger throw.
2.5 cm
Rim Inside DiameterThe width of the flat middle, inside the rim. Bigger usually means a slower, easier disc.
15.9 cm
Rim Depth/Diameter RatioRim depth as a share of the disc's width. Higher means a deeper rim for its size.
5.7%
Rim ConfigurationA PDGA score for the shape of the edge. Low is sharp, like a driver. High is rounded, like a putter.

BeadA small ridge under the edge of the rim, mostly on putters. It changes how the disc feels in hand.

4.745 reviews from 5 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
