Gatekeeper

4.8(67)
Mid Range

The Gatekeeper is a straight-flying Westside midrange rated 4/5/0/2. Good glide, no turn and a gentle fade suit straight fairway shots, controlled approaches and lines that need to hold a hyzer or anhyzer angle. Players who want a mid with a strong fade for wind should look elsewhere.

Westside describes it as a disc that holds its release angle, with only a slight fade even when thrown hard. Players on Disc Golf Course Review described a neutral, straight mid, and one felt it flies more like a 5-speed than its rating suggests.

The PDGA approved the Gatekeeper on 28 December 2018 (18-93). Its Finnish name is Tuonen Poika, from the Kalevala, and the stamp art is by Oskar Åström (2018); Joshua Patin has a Team Series run. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the Discmania MD2 and the Latitude 64 Fuji.

4.867 reviews from 5 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
