X4

The X4 is a slightly understable, low-profile Prodigy distance driver. Prodigy built it for players with lower arm speed who want more distance: it is meant to hold a turnover at modest speeds, and Prodigy says faster arms see it flip later in the flight. Big arms looking for a driver that stays stable in a headwind should choose something else. In its 2023 overhaul of flight numbers Prodigy rated the X4 at 12/6/-2/2, while the stamp on its 500-plastic discs still carries the original 13/5/-2.5/2. Prodigy also pitches it for low ceilings and tunnel shots. Players on Disc Golf Course Review were divided. Slower arms liked it as a distance driver that turns and then comes back, while others felt it was caught in between, too stable to flip and not stable enough for wind, and some noticed variation between discs. The PDGA approved the X4 on 21 April 2017 (17-63). Prodigy ended production of the X4 in November 2024, and its 400 and 500 runs are sold out on Prodigy's store as of October 2026.
