The Ion is MVP's beaded, stable putter, rated 2.5/3/0/1.5: a straight-to-overstable putter with a late, gentle fade. MVP pitches it to power putters and to approach shots where a little extra stability helps, such as windy days or harder throws. For a beadless rim and a straighter finish, MVP offers the Anode. MVP says both strong and softer throwers see it hold a straight line with a subtle fade, and positions it as the step up in stability from the Anode when there is too much wind for the Anode. The Ion has a special place in MVP's history: the company's first production run, in December 2009, was about 375 Ions with a blue core and red rim. The PDGA approved it on 14 September 2009 (09-21).
