Boss

The Boss is a fast, powerful, dependable distance driver rated 13/5/-1/3, with just a touch of high-speed turn to boost distance and a strong, reliable fade to the left at the end (for a right-handed backhand). It is built for full-power throws and sidearm drivers who want a high-speed disc that stays stable and finishes predictably.

Advanced players and forehand throwers value its dependable stability in wind and under power; it is not a beginner's first driver, since it takes real arm speed to bring out its full flight. Innova notes that the Champion Boss flies a bit more stable than the base rating (closer to 13/5/0/3), so plastic choice shifts the finish. It is a shallow, fast, beadless speed-13 rim.

Approved in 2008, the Boss earned a permanent place in distance-driving history in March 2016, when David Wiggins Jr set the world record for the longest throw, 1,108 feet, with a 154-gram R-Pro Boss. That record framed the Boss as a genuine maximum-distance driver for years.

R-Pro and DX give a grippier, slightly less stable flight; Champion and Star hold the overstable finish and are the durable picks for power throwers.
