Thrasher

Distance Driver

The Thrasher is a very understable distance driver intended to bring maximum distance to the masses. It has a slightly narrower rim than most 12-speeds, but very high glide and turn, which all combine to make the Thrasher remarkably easy to throw far. An intermediate arm will be able to get a full flight out of the Thrasher, and more advanced players will be able to use this driver well for large turnovers, hyzerflips, and rollers.

Discraft released the Thrasher in 2016 in the hopes of producing a distance driver that would appeal to beginners. It became quite popular because it accomplished this goal, despite being in direct competition with similar Discraft discs such as the Nuke SS and Crank, eventually overtaking both in popularity. The Thrasher is especially popular amongst FPO players including, most notably, Missy Gannon, who has made the disc so popular that she has collaborated with Discraft to release the more stable Captain’s Thrasher. Many Gannon runs of Thrasher’s are somewhat collectible, as well as some Ledgestone releases of the disc.
