The Mutant is Discmania's very overstable midrange, rated 5/3/0/4. Its low glide and heavy finish suit utility approaches, forceful hyzer lines and wind-exposed midrange shots. It is a specialized choice; a newer player seeking straight carry may find the fade dominates the flight. Discmania says the design began with the idea of removing rounded surfaces. The maker recommends it for both backhands and forehands, especially when a strongly overstable flight is the objective. Its strong finish can help a shot bend around an obstacle or recover from an anhyzer release. The PDGA approved the Mutant on 22 March 2021 (21-33).

19 cm
Rim Depth/Diameter RatioRim depth as a share of the disc's width. Higher means a deeper rim for its size.

4.536 reviews from 4 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
