Tempo

The Tempo is an overstable approach disc produced by Axiom. It features a low profile and flat top which, along with its ability to handle torque, allow it to be a strong option for forehands and backhands. Tempos are able to withstand power without turning over and still exhibit a reliable fade. They are not as overstable as some other approach discs, but they are intended to be consistent and dependable.

The Tempo was approved in 2023 and released as part of the MVP Circuit Challenge that year, and as the first disc in Axiom’s 11mm class of putt-and-approach discs. The Tempo has since moved beyond special releases: MVP currently lists it in Neutron, Proton, Eclipse, and Electron blends. In terms of pro usage, Jeremy Koling has selected the Tempo as his Team Series disc, and several other pros have chosen the Tempo as their approach disc as well. OTB and MVP Open Tempos are considered somewhat collectible.
