Tantrum

4.8(44)
Distance Driver

The Tantrum is a fast Axiom distance driver rated 14.5/5/-1.5/3, with some high-speed turn, big glide and a strong fade. How it flies depends on power: Axiom says expert arms get significant turn followed by a dependable fade, while average arms get a straight-to-stable flight with a sharp finish. Slower throwers are likely to see mostly the fade.

Axiom compares it to a beat-in MVP Teleport, with lots of glide for long, sweeping lines and hyzer flips from strong throwers.

The PDGA approved the Tantrum on 15 March 2018 (18-25), shortly before the Excite joined it in Axiom's 24.5 mm class. Try Discs lists it in Neutron as of October 2026. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the MVP Teleport and the Innova Colossus.

Rim DepthHow deep the rim is underneath, where your fingers grip. Putters have the deepest rims.
1.2 cm
Rim ThicknessHow wide the rim is. Wider rims make faster discs that need a stronger throw.
2.5 cm
Rim Inside DiameterThe width of the flat middle, inside the rim. Bigger usually means a slower, easier disc.

4.844 reviews from 5 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
