Lightning Discs discs

Lightning Discs is one of the sport's oldest manufacturers, with discs dating to the mid-1980s, and it names molds by intended shot rather than by character. The catalog reads as a matrix: a number for the mold series and a shot type after it, giving Driver, Flyer, Helix, Hookshot, Hyzer, Roller and Slice variants within each series.

That system predates the modern four-number flight rating and was an early attempt to solve the same problem, telling a player what a disc is for rather than describing how it flies. Plastics are limited to Standard, Prostyle and a glow run.

Most of the catalog here is marked out of production. The three molds still listed as current are the No2 Hookshot, the No2 Upshot and the Rubber Putter.
