Vellamo

Mid Range
The Vellamo is a glidy, straight-flying Westside midrange rated 5/5.5/0/1.5, released in 2026. No turn and a modest fade suit straight shots, tight fairways and controlled approaches. Players who need a heavy fade for wind, or a mid that turns over, should look elsewhere. Westside pitches it for control and glide, for straight throws and shaped lines on tight fairways and approaches. Its stamp story names Vellamo as the goddess of the sea in the Kalevala, who lives in the deep with her husband Ahti. The PDGA approved the Vellamo on 2 March 2026 (26-38), and Westside scheduled the first VIP release for 15 June 2026. The stamp art is by Niklas Karbin Hedqvist (2026). Try Discs lists it in VIP as of October 2026; Westside also makes a Tournament version not yet recorded here. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the Westside Warship and the Latitude 64 Mace.

Reviews

8 reviews from 4 stores

The Westside Vellamo has only 8 reviews so far, so one opinion can swing the picture. That's why there's no star average yet.

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
