Sampo

3.8(46)
Distance Driver
The Sampo is a speed-10 Westside driver rated 10/4/-1/2. With a little turn and a modest fade it flies close to straight, for players who want distance on open fairways without a hard finish. Players who need a disc for wind or big forehand hyzers should look elsewhere. Westside calls its flight very neutral and says its smooth release and glide give easy distance on long, low, straight lines. Players on Disc Golf Course Review in 2015 put its speed at around 10 to 11. The PDGA approved the Sampo on 20 May 2015 (15-51). Westside's Finnish site recorded a limited Elasto run sold for the 2015 Trilogy Challenge (29 May to 20 September 2015) and the VIP launch on 15 September 2015, and listed it at 10/5/0/2 at the time, while the current numbers are the ones above. It is named for the Sampo machine of the Kalevala, and the stamp art is by Arto Hoffrén (2014). Try Discs lists it in VIP, Tournament and Elasto as of October 2026. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the Innova SL and the Guru Disc Golf Sleipner.

3.846 reviews from 4 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
