Fortress
more_horiz
The Fortress is a Westside driver rated 10/4/0/3: a stable-to-overstable disc with no high-speed turn and a firm fade. We list it as a distance driver; Westside sells it as a fairway driver, and it sits between the two: a control disc for long, accurate drives, hyzer lines and flex shots into the wind. Beginners and slower arms are likely to find it fades early, so a more understable driver suits them better.
Westside describes it as a workhorse that combines speed, control and stability, and presents it as built with wind in mind. Players on Disc Golf Course Review compare it to the Discmania PD: thrown hard it goes straight and then hooks out. They report VIP as more overstable than Tournament and call it a good forehand control driver.
The PDGA approved the Fortress (Linnoitus in Finnish) on 23 March 2017 (17-35). Westside takes the name from the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala, and the stamp art is by Arto Hoffrén (2016). Try Discs lists it in VIP, Tournament, VIP Glimmer, VIP X and VIP-X Chameleon as of October 2026. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the Innova Starfire and the Discmania PD.

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
