Backdraft

The Backdraft is a distance driver rated 12/5/-1/2. A single point of turn into a 2 fade suggests a workable power flight: a touch of high-speed drift, then a dependable left finish for a right-hand backhand; at speed 12 it is not a disc for low-power arms.

The release copy Salient supplied to the PDGA called it an ultra long-range driver with a moderate dome, slight high-speed turn and a generous fade. There is a conflict in the sources, disclosed rather than resolved: the brand's own release listing prints a 12/5/-2/1 rating, its turn and fade differing from the figure carried here. PDGA approval came on 22 May 2014, nine days after the Vein, in the last documented certification stretch of the South Carolina micro-brand.
