The D4 Max is an understable speed-13 Prodigy distance driver rated 13/5/-3/2. Plenty of turn and a moderate fade suit beginners and slower arms looking for distance, and turnovers and rollers for stronger players. Players who need a stable finish or a headwind driver should look elsewhere. Prodigy described it as the beginner-friendly member of its Max Series: a low-profile driver built for speed and glide whose understable flight helps slower arms, rides right on a long flight with full power, and works as a straighter hyzer flip at shorter distances. The PDGA approved the D4 Max on 31 January 2019 (19-07). Prodigy's 2023 flight-number update set its current figures, and Prodigy ended production in November 2024.
