The Solar Eclipse is a midrange rated 5/5/-1/1. A turn rating of -1 with a fade rating of 1 suggests a fairly straight flight with some right drift at speed for a right-hand backhand and a gentle finish. Its ratings suggest it is less suited to players seeking strong turnover resistance or a pronounced fade. Orbital Disc Golf billed itself as a fan-controlled brand that gave everyday players a say in its look, merchandise and disc names. Its original stamp art shows a total solar eclipse under the shorter name Eclipse, which the brand also used for its store page, while the later bar stamp reads Solar Eclipse. In April 2023 the brand said trouble with hot stamping had led it to switch its nine-disc lineup to simple bar stamps. The PDGA approved it on 13 March 2023 (23-73). TryDiscs does not yet record a plastic row for it as of September 2026.
