Splinter

SMALL BRAND
Putt & Approach
Splinter is an Obsidian Discs approach disc with a strongly fading flight, rated 3/2/0/3.5. Its low glide and pronounced finish fit short placement shots and throwing-putter drives where a curved ending is part of the plan. Obsidian describes Splinter as flat-topped, with a rounded underside to the rim, and recommends it for driving, approaches and windy throwing use. The manufacturer also markets it for putting, but the substantial finish makes it a different proposition from a neutral putter on longer airborne approaches. The PDGA approved Splinter on 17 September 2014 (14-72).

The Obsidian Discs Splinter has only 3 reviews so far, so one opinion can swing the picture. That's why there's no star average yet.

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
