Squid

The Squid is a distance driver rated 11/5/-1/2. A single point of turn at speed 11 suggests a long power flight with a gentle flip and a moderate left finish for a right-hand backhand. It is not a disc for big turnover lines.

It is the disc that started it all, in the words of Neptune Discs, the sea-named brand whose molds and plastics all stay in that register: its name was picked in a 2020 naming contest, two years before the PDGA approved it on 18 July 2022 as the brand's first certification. The current listing sells a second run in Triton plastic, pitched as comfortable, smooth and durable, and says the mold is back in its final form; much of the first run could not be sold, so the brand had those discs reground with its partner Trash Panda into minis, 624 of them stamped Discy McDisc Face to honor the contest entries.
