Recoil

Distance Driver
The Recoil is an overstable speed-12 Latitude 64 distance driver rated 12/4/0/3, with no turn and a firm fade. It suits players who want distance with control and a predictable finish. Players who cannot power a speed-12 rim, or who want a turnover or a straight finish, should look elsewhere. Latitude's design and product manager, Tomas Ekström, wrote in 2020 that the Recoil came from wanting, as an older player whose arm speed was dropping, a stable, dependable driver that was still easy to throw, with a semi-wide 22 mm rim. Ekström retooled it to make it less overstable, said domier Recoils are more stable than flatter ones, and named Linus Åström, Johannes Högberg and Teemu Nissinen among its testers. Players on Disc Golf Course Review found new ones very overstable but quick to settle into a straight flight with a solid fade, and a good wind disc. The PDGA approved the Recoil on 23 November 2018 (18-80). Latitude 64 retired it in January 2025, so it no longer reaches stores through wholesale. On our comparison table its nearest matches are the Discraft Force and the Prodiscus Totem.

4.948 reviews from 3 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
