Putt & Approach
The XD is a low-profile, thin-rimmed putt-and-approach disc rated 3/4/-1/1, a straight, easy-releasing disc with a touch of turn and a light fade (for a right-handed backhand). Innova built it as its most driver-like putter, useful for putts, drives and approaches, and a good disc for developing touch around the basket. The low profile and thin rim promote a secure grip and a natural, easy release, which makes it approachable and controllable for straight approach lines and driving putts. Its slightly understable-to-neutral flight goes where you aim it at controlled speed. It is a beadless approach disc. It has since left Innova's active lineup, succeeded by the brand's deep range of modern putters and approach discs. The XD dates to Innova's early era and is now discontinued, a low-profile approach classic from the sport's early decades. Older runs turn up secondhand, where the thin-rim, driver-like feel remains its defining trait.

4.820 reviews from 5 stores

Try Discs adds up reviews from six disc golf stores, so you see what players think across stores, not just at one shop. Reviews are great for spotting proven, popular discs. Take the details with a grain of salt, though: runs, plastics and skill level all change how a disc flies, so your experience may vary.
