The Ape is a fast, very overstable distance driver rated 13/5/0/4, built to handle the raw power of disc golf's biggest arms: it holds its line against speed and wind before a strong, dependable fade to the left (for a right-handed backhand). It is a windy-conditions and sharp-dogleg specialist.

That high-speed stability is the appeal: it stands up to intense forehand (sidearm) torque without turning over, which makes it a go-to for power backhand and sidearm drives and a range of niche flex shots. Innova notes it has less high-speed turn than a Boss, so it is the more overstable, dependable choice of the two at speed. Because it needs real arm speed and fades hard, it is not a beginner's driver. It is a shallow, beadless speed-13 rim.

Approved in 2011, the Ape is one of Innova's dependable overstable power drivers.

Champion and Star runs hold the strong fade longest and are the durable picks for power and wind.
