The Animal is a short-range, stable approach disc rated 2/1/0/1, a low-glide putt-and-approach mold designed to fly a controlled line on both forehand and backhand and finish predictably. It doubles as a dependable putter in wind and inside the circle.

Its low glide and stable flight are the point: it goes where you throw it on short, firm approaches and does not float or drift, which makes it a confident forehand (sidearm) approach and windy-day putting disc. Innova builds it with a grippy rim, branded the Thumtrac, for a secure hold on power throws. Because glide is so low, it is not a distance disc; it is a controlled short-game tool.
