Honey

The Honey is a putt and approach disc rated 4/3/0/3. Zero turn against a 3 fade suggests an overstable approach flight that holds into wind and finishes firmly left for a right-hand backhand; it is not a disc for turnover touch.

It is the first disc in the lineup of Essential Discs, a Michigan brand whose site says it was founded in 2010 as a disc golf promotion and course-design company: the brand's products page says its first disc was the Honey, approved in 2014, and the record agrees, 26 August 2014, more than eight years before the PDGA approved the brand's six-mold batch in February 2023. The listing pitches it as a wind-fighting approach disc that can even serve as a putter in extreme wind, and the brand's catalogue describes it as a low-profile approach disc blending the line between midrange and putter, one it jokingly calls a Mutter. There is a conflict in the sources, disclosed rather than resolved: the brand's own shop listings print 4/4/0/3, a point more glide than the figure carried here, while its catalogue page prints the same figures carried here.
