XL

The XL is a discontinued driver from Discraft's late-1990s lineup, rated 7/4/-2/1: understable, glidey, and easy to throw far for its era. It sold as a distance driver in its day; against the modern speed chart it flies like a touch fairway with a taste for turnovers.

The -2 turn plus minimal fade means straight-to-right lines at moderate power, and well-worn copies became beloved turnover and roller discs, which is how many bags carried them for years.

Approved in April 1998 (PDGA cert 98-04), the XL was a mainstay of late-90s and early-2000s bags before the speed race moved past it, and it has since been retired.

It circulates widely used: Pro-D and X Line base plastics, ESP and Z Line premium, plus ESP FLX, Titanium Swirl, Big Z, and Tour Series Z runs from its later years.
