Luna

The Luna is a straight flying putter that excels for both putting and throwing. It has a rounded shoulder and beadless rim to add comfort and comes in a variety of plastics. As a putter, it has a straight-to-overstable flight path with a consistent fade and holds up to wind well. When thrown it flies dead straight and will turn for players with faster arms.

Approved in 2018, the Luna was the first of Paul McBeth’s signature lineup of discs created in collaboration with Discraft. McBeth stated that he chose to make a putter first since putting is where championships are won. The initial runs of Lunas were made with a combination of Jawbreaker and Rubber Blend in order to provide a tackier feel along with increased durability. Upon release, many noted that the flight numbers seemed very inaccurate (particularly the 3 fade), and around 2024 when the Kratos was released the flight numbers were adjusted to better reflect the flight of the disc. Flight numbers were updated from 3-3-0-3 to 3-4-0-2.

Paul McBeth has stated that the Luna is his favorite disc from his line due to its dependability for both throws and putts. Since its release, the Luna has been produced in more premium plastic varieties, which have become extremely popular throwing putters. McBeth and Anthony Barela both throw them often, and both have been known to throw them in excess of 400 feet thanks to the putter’s glide and torque resistance, especially in premium plastic. McBeth Tour Series and Prototype Lunas are both collectible runs, as are the McBeth x Barela Ledgestone Lunas.
