Heat

The Heat is a control driver that is ideal for newer players looking for more distance. It is domey and understable, making it ideal for long, gliding s-curves for newer players. For more advanced arms, however, the Heat excels at long turnovers, controlled hyzerflips, and even rollers. It does not take much power to throw the Heat, and with some touch it can be a very versatile driver.

Discraft debuted the Heat as a prototype in the 2014 Ace Race. It quickly gained popularity, especially amongst amateurs, due to how easy it is to gain distance with this driver. For a brief period of time, the Heat essentially paused production of the Avenger SS, though the latter eventually began to be sold alongside the Heat. At the professional level, MPO players like Paul McBeth and Ezra Aderhold made Heat’s their roller disc of choice, and FPO players like Paige Pierce and Hailey King have been known to throw them for long turnovers. Early runs and McBeth Heat’s are both considered moderately collectible.
