The Fossil is Ricky Wysocki's overstable approach disc, rated 3/1/0/3 with a subtle micro-bead: putter-class speed, almost no glide, and a firm left finish. The glide 1 is the point, shots die where they land, which makes it a wind-approach, flick-upshot and skip-hyzer tool.

Power changes its distance, not its shape: overpowered upshots and gusty approaches end the same way, short and left, which is what an overstable approach disc is for.

It arrived in Ricky Wysocki's first Discraft wave alongside the Roost putter and Hallux driver, filed under his prototype code and certified in October 2025 (PDGA cert 25-151).

The first run came in Z ColorShift; more plastics will follow as the mold settles into the lineup.

    The Fossil is slower (speed 3 vs 4) with less glide (1 vs 3) than the Zone, making it dump harder and shorter. It is more of a pure approach disc while the Zone can also serve as a driving putter.
