Cyclone

The Cyclone is a discontinued classic, rated 7/4/-1/2: a workable fairway driver with a touch of turn and an honest fade. Widely remembered as one of the most played drivers of 1990s disc golf, it was the disc a generation learned to drive with; in modern terms it flies like a friendly control driver.

The flight is all manners: gentle right drift at power, a finish that fades without slamming, and a narrow-by-modern-standards rim that suits smaller hands and older-school grips.

Certified in July 1993 (PDGA cert 93-05), it anchored Discraft's driver lineup through the decade; a Cyclone 2 followed in 1996 with its own certification, and the 1994 Typhoon was its big-diameter follow-up that never caught on. The mold has since been retired from the modern lineup.

Copies circulate across eras: Pro-D and X Line from the early days, with later ESP, ESP Swirl, and Tour Series ESP runs for collectors.
