Cicada

The Cicada is a straight-to-understable fairway driver rated 7/6/-1/1, with glide as its calling card. Thrown at moderate power it flies long and honest with only a soft left finish, and a touch more power turns it into an easy hyzer-flip disc. It rewards smooth, average-speed arms; big power will flip it past straight, and it is not the driver for a headwind.

The glide-6 rating is the story in practice: the Cicada stays airborne past where similar-speed fairways settle, which makes it a natural choice for controlled distance without muscle. Newer players get full flights early, and finesse players use it for anhyzer holds and gentle shape.

It is one of Discraft's newer molds, approved in August 2023 (PDGA cert 23-215). A modified, more overstable sibling, the Cigarra, holds its own separate certification, a sign Discraft is building the mold out into a small family.
