Banger GT

The Banger GT is a straight-flying beaded putter rated 2/3/0/1, best known for the GT, the groove-top thumb track molded into its flight plate. It putts and approaches on the line you release with only a soft left lean at the end; players who want a hard-fading wind putter should pick something more overstable.

The groove gives the thumb a consistent register, the bead locks the rim in the fingers, and low glide keeps distances predictable. It drives at short range and holds hyzer or anhyzer lines without surprises.

Approved in October 2005 (PDGA cert 05-19), the Banger GT became the longest-running of Discraft's groove-top discs, and its top profile lives on: the 2024 Zone GT line includes a certified "Banger Top" version borrowing exactly this feel.

Putter Line, Pro-D, and the soft X Soft and Rubber Blend runs cover the touch feels, Jawbreaker firms it up, and Big Z, Z Line, ESP, Titanium, and CryZtal FLX carry it into durable plastics.
