DD2

The DD2 is Discmania's in-house distance driver for big, workable lines, rated 13/5/-2/2: real speed, easy glide, and a manageable amount of high-speed turn before a controlled fade. It suits players developing their distance game as well as bigger arms who want a straighter bomber, and it now fills the core distance slot the Enigma used to occupy.

The name has three chapters, and Discmania's own summary compresses them confusingly, so here is the clean version. The original DD2 was an Innova-era mold from the brand's US production days, a faster and less controllable disc by Discmania's own description, and it is long out of production. The Enigma arrived in 2019 as the first distance driver in the Evolution line and earned a following as a straight, workable bomber. From 2025 production onward that same Enigma mold moved into the Originals family under the DD2 name, and Discmania re-rated it 13/5/-2/2 for the new listing (the Enigma era carried 12/5/-1/2). Same mold, new name and numbers: TryDiscs follows the manufacturer's current official rating.

Current production centers on premium runs like Glow Horizon C-Line, while the classic C-Line, D-Line, and S-Line rows on this page belong to the old mold's era. If you bagged an Enigma, the current DD2 is the same disc wearing its new name; if you find a vintage US-made DD2, expect a different and more demanding flight.
